Word 029
The Great Buddha of Nara has been sitting quietly in the same place for 1,300 years.
Not adjusting itself to others. Not changing its form to please anyone. Simply remaining, steady and still, with its own center intact.
Standing before it, a quiet question seems to arise.
"Do you have your own center?"
Contributing to others does not mean erasing yourself.
First, make yourself the center. Fill yourself.
The key is not Ego — but Self.
Without Self, you cannot even be kind to others.
Filling yourself is not selfishness. It is tending to the very source from which warmth flows toward others.
